Ingredients

  • 2 Cups White Sugar
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 3 Cups Full Cream Milk Powder

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Sauce Pan
  • Measuring Cups
  • 1 Heat Proof Jug
  • 1 Blender I use the Ninja Stealth IQ Blender
  • 3-4 Airtight Heatproof Containers or Jars

Method

  1. Add the sugar and water to a medium saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  3. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Do not allow it to caramelise.
  4. Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool for approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Pour the syrup into a blender.
  6. Add the milk powder.
  7. Blend for 1–2 minutes until completely smooth.
  8. Pour into a clean jar or airtight container.
  9. Refrigerate until completely chilled. The mixture will thicken as it cools.
  10. The condensed milk thickens after refrigeration, however it is more liquid than what you buy in the store.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Stir before using if any separation occurs.
This recipe makes enough for approximately two standard cans of sweetened condensed milk.
Perfect for baking, slices, fudge, cheesecakes and making homemade dulce de leche. (Check our other recipes for more info)
